Haystack's Hillary Step
September 11, 2004 — This terrain feature on Haystack will remind those familiar with Mount Everest's Southeast Ridge route of its precarious Hillary Step. Thankfully, the climb to Haystack is not on a knife-edge ridge like on Everest (despite the appearance of one in this photo).
