SNOWBIRD, UT — I mercifully received a requested (and much needed) half-day off from work today. I've put in a ton of hours at Snowbird the past two weeks, and I just needed a little break. Yesterday the resort received about 14 inches of snow by closing time. I spent most of my day (aside from working) deciding whether or not to stay up at the resort so I could avoid getting stuck at the bottom of the canyon on a powder day, again. The forecast called for another foot of snow overnight, and then another foot today. I followed my logical instincts, however, and decided not to waste my money staying at the resort.

First Ski Day of the Season
SNOWBIRD, UT — After selling tickets to skiers for the past four days, I finally got a day off from work to go skiing. I guess this ski day marks my first as an official ski bum. Although my job at Snowbird Resort is a little more respectable than, say, a dishwasher's, I still make way below my market value doing semi-menial tasks that require skills I acquired well before my 12th birthday.
